Mike Long is one of the most successful trophy hunters who has ever lived ! Mike has several lake record Largemouth bass, as well as two lake record Crappie, two lake record trout, a lake record Channel cat,  and a 78 lb lake record Blue catfish to his name ! If there is a trophy freshwater fish swimming in So Cal. waters, Mike is probably going to catch it........or he already has !   Mike attributes much of his success at being able to eliminate unproductive water fast, so that he can then concentrate his efforts where the big ones hang out. He uses all kinds of artificial lures: plastic worms, jigs, swimbaits, etc. as well as live baits such as crawdads.   While looking at these amazing photos, some may say, "Yes, but he is fishing in the best area for trophy bass on the planet" ! Well maybe so, but keep in mind that there are literally millions of good anglers down there who have never caught a bass over ten pounds ! Mike obviously has the art of trophy bass fishing down to a fine science, and is definitely the kind of angler I want to learn from. And to top it all off, he is a very nice guy as well !

	This is the current "big bass king" Mike Long, with an absolutely massive bass of 20 lb 12 oz ! This fish was caught at Lake Dixon and is the largest bass caught by any angler, anywhere, in ten years ! It also becomes the largest fish on my top ten list ! 	Here's Mike with a massive 18.1 lb'er which he caught from Lk. Poway on a jig in about 25 feet of water.   What else can I tell you, which the picture does not ? Simply astounding. Back to top 10

	This pot bellied pig went 18 lb 3 oz and was caught on a Gitzit lure ! Back to top 10

	Mike with another 15 ! Ok, 15-1 to be exact. This monster bit a Mission fish swimbait at Lk. Perris on the 4th of July. Great way to celebrate our independence, huh ?

	Mike caught these monsters which went 15 and 12 lbs, at Lk. Dixon.   Hey buddy, I would settle for that 12 lb'er about right now :-)

	This monster bass went 15 lb 9 oz and was caught on the 9" Optimum swimbait which you can see if you look closely.

	Here are a couple more trophy bass from Lk. Poway. The fish on the left went 15 lb 8 oz ! The 10 lb'er on the right would make a good trip for me !

	This monster was caught at Lk. Murray on a white jig, and went a whopping 18 lbs ! Back to top ten

	This giant mama bass went 17 lbs and was caught on a 9" plastic worm ! Remember, even a giant bass loves a worm ! Back to top 10
