About Myself And This Site .    .

My name is "Fish Chris" Wolfgram.  I am 43 years old and have been fishing nearly all of my life. I live about halfway between Sacramento and SanFrancisco, here in Northern California.  I  worked in tropical fish stores for many  years and I also worked on a fish farm. I have been keeping fish in aquariums for nearly 30 years.  I have fished for many of the freshwater North American sportfish as well as  several saltwater species. And yes, in case you were wondering, I do speak fish as a second language :-)  I have been fishing for bass since I was a kid, but had never really fished specifically for "Trophy Bass" until about 10 years ago.
I have had a PC for about 10 years, but I am still an admitted PC dummy.  Please bare with me. When I first got on the net, I was fairly impressed with the overall number of bass fishing sites. However, just as with all other forms of media, I found very little information specifically related to "Trophy Bass".  Sometimes if you want something done in a certain way, for a specific purpose, you just have to do it yourself.  So then, this site is my attempt to help fill in that specific niche which I believe is severely lacking.  It should be noted that I have nothing against "typical" or "tournament" bass fishing. (please see article, "Tourn. Bass  vs Trophy Bass" ) In fact, I don't believe there is one of us who doesn't enjoy the catch and release of a nice four or five pound bass.  However there is already tons of information available for those interests.
I hope you enjoy the site. And good luck in the "Catch And Release" of a "Trophy Bass" !

This site is dedicated in loving memory, to my late uncle Elton Wise, who placed a cane pole in my hand at the age of three, and showed me the sport which would become my life's passion.

Where it all began. Uncle Elton's pond in the late 60's.

Here I am with my most recent personal best Largemouth of 18.4 lbs. She was 29 inches long and had a girth of 24.5 inches.
This fish represents the culmination of more than 6000 hours (during a period of 5 years) of fishing for trophy sized Largemouth Bass.
Sure I am very proud of this catch, but the fact of the matter is, anyone who puts in the time and effort required, will achieve similar (or even greater) success !
I wasn't born with any kind of special fishing powers. I'm just a guy who loves to fish :-)
"If you fish like everyone else fishes, then you will likely catch what everyone else catches. If that isn't enough for you, then it's time to step out of the box.    Fish Chris
