After fishing for 6 hours without a fish, I stuck this very nice 10.2 lb'er on a swimbait......

.....then, I stuck this nice 10.1 lb'er on the very next cast ! Followed by a 6 lb'er on the cast after that ! Then, 3 more casts, and I stuck a 9.4 lb'er ! Then, not another hit for the rest of the day. Talk about a burst of action. All going to prove once again, "you just never know".....

Although I have caught 5 of my 6 double digit fish this year on a swimbait, this finicky post spawner would not even look at one....... So I had to completely flip the script on her :-) Ended up sticking her on a tail-hooked, fly-lined crawler, and geez did she rip some drag ! She ended up going 12.6 lbs, and is my first double digit from Lake Del Valle.

It was the day after Memorial day weekend. Water was thrashed, and furthermore, the lake was right in the middle of a turnover. I had thrown a swimbait for 6 hours without a bump, or a follow..... when out of the blue, Pow ! I stick this very nice 12.4 lb'er :-) The moral of the story is, don't ever give up !
