Everybody and there grandmother had been seeing, and fishing for this hog for more than a week !
I finally stuck her on a "wad-o-crawlers", but even so, I am totally convinced that she only grabbed those crawlers because of competition from a 9 lb'er which came in and grabbed them. I forced myself not to set the hook on the smaller fish though, and when it spit them out, this hog grabbed them. Took two tries though. She was totally spawned out (I know she looks kind of fat in the photo, but that was just from sag) and still went 14.1 lbs !
Geez, I wish I would have measured her. I think she was about 28" in length ! Pretty old fish though.... probably on the decline.

I sighted this fish on a bed at around 11:30 am, but had to work on her for 7 hours straight before I put her in the boat !!! It was worth it though. She ended up going 12.4 lbs.

This is Chris "SpeedyG" with an awesome Rancho Seco bass of 13 lb 7 oz.
We have strong reason to believe that I hooked and lost this same fish a couple days before (darn treble hooks !)... I'm just glad that a catch and release angler like Chris caught her :-) You da' man ! Congrats :-)
