The San Pablo Dam Res. record bass, a monstrous fish of 18 lbs 11 oz, was caught on a night crawler and marshmallow combo by a trout angler.

The second biggest bass caught from San Pablo Dam Res, a behemoth of 18.0 lbs, was also caught on a night crawler.

My first double digit bass, an 11 lb 11 ouncer, bit a night crawler, although she would not eat a live crawdad.

The Lake Berryessa record bass, a 17.5 lb'er, was caught by an angler who was fishing for bass....... with live night crawlers.

While fishing for catfish on San Pablo Dam Res. with a wad of dead night crawlers, I caught my biggest bass on a micro-light rod...... a beautiful 13.0 lb'er.

The first bass ever caught over 20 lbs in California, a 20 lb 15 ounce giant, was caught at Lake Miramar, by Dave Zimmerlee on a wad of night crawlers !!!

![]() Everybody, including myself, had been trying to catch this hog for weeks, but she would not bite anything.... not even a live crawdad. But finally, after many hours of trying, I got her to take a wad of crawlers. Although she might appear to have some belly in the photo, this was just from sag. She was actually completely spawned out, and still went 14.1 lbs.

Just remember: Worms are high in protein, put up no fight whatsoever, have no bones or spines, and are washed into the water in nearly every place that bass swim. Quite possibly, the perfect snack for a bass :-)
