This bass was barely 3 lbs, yet it tried to eat this 10" Basstrix lure !!!
People always tell me, "Well our lake does not have too many big bass.......Do you think those trout lures are too big for our fish" ???
Well, after seeing this photo, what do you think ?

Josh Klober sent me this picture of a very nice bass saying, "I didn't have a scale, but I believe it was close to 10 lbs".......... and I have to agree with him. I appreciated his honesty so much, I decided to post it here on the "Misc. Fish Photos pg".
In any case, always remember to carry a scale (or two).
Very nice fish though buddy !

This is Chris Canfield with two sho' nuff' trophy Crappie ! The one on the left went 3 lb 9 oz and the one on the right went a whopping 4 lbs !
These fish were caught at White Oak Lk. in Arkansas, which is known to produce slabs like these.
One note about big heavy Crappie: These fish seem to max out at between 16 and 18 inches, (compare the width of Chris' hand to the length of these fish) and then just get thicker and thicker, which unfortunately does not show in a photo. Awesome fish though !!!

This is David McKenzie with a beautiful "wild" Rainbow trout which he caught from the Merced River. Now this is a sho' nuff' trophy in my book !
I doubt if our bass could catch this one :-)

This was a 9 lb "golden cat" that I caught at Clear Lk. Ca. Note that this was not an albino, as it did have black eyes, just hardly any pigmentation any where else. Fish which exhibit very unusual coloration are known as "color sports" among biologists. Really just a genetic glitch.

.... and while we are on the subject of unusual pigmentation, check out the tail on this healthy 9.0 lb bass that I caught on a night crawler at San Pablo Dam Res.
|
......and one year later, here she is again ! This time my buddy Rob caught her on a swimbait ! She weighed 9.4 lbs this time.
Okay, so you have heard it a million times......... but Catch and Release works !!!

Note: This page is open for the submission of misc. photos. Some pics I'd like to see might include:

A 3 lb. Bluegill !
A true albino largemouth !

Or does anyone have a good pic of a big, beautiful koi (colored carp) which they caught on a rod and reel ?
